The MLS expansion franchise unveiled Lozano as their first designated player signing in Thursday morning. They will bring the 28-year-old in from Eredivisie side PSV before they begin their debut MLS season.

WHAT LOZANO SAID ABOUT SIGNING FOR SAN DIEGO
In a press release, Lozano expressed his excitement to be joining the Southern California side: "It’s an honor to join San Diego FC as the Club’s first Designated Player. It’s exciting to be part of history as we build a Club that will compete for championships in MLS. In every country I have played, I always strive to leave a mark, and making an impact in San Diego and MLS is very important to me."

Lozano is the club's fourth ever signing. He will join local product Duran Ferree, as well as Danish internationals Marcus Ingvarsten and Jeppe Tverskov. They have also been linked with Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos.
